Highly recommended by locals, our best guide
Whenever we are house sitting in a new location we ask the ‘locals’ where they like to eat. In Lorn near Maitland for 4 months, Largs hotel was said by many to be a good place for lunch, and we were not disappointed. We were joined by friends from Pokolbin and all agreed it was fine fare and a very pleasant place to spend a long Sunday lunch. The dining area and verandah offer many choices of good tables, however booking early is highly recommended. The menu is simple and appealing. Entree of Prawn Cocktail brought back many memories for us 70-somethings, but the offering here was way above anything experienced way back when. For mains, the choice was crumbed Barramundi and the seafood basket, which was declared a cut above the average, accompanied by delicious fresh salads and crunchy chips. As usual, there was always room for dessert … choice was difficult so each couple shared a Chef’s Dessert Plate, a bit of everything sweet and wonderful, with great coffee to finish a perfect day.

Food was excellent & never disappoints
Been a little while since we last ventured back here & certainly glad we did as the food was excellent
The staff were first class who are friendly & attentive so along with the meals that we selected the night was a memorable
Although a pub in the true sense it has an extensive wine list which would shame some fine dining establishments
The lady publican interacted with the diners & can see why the place is always full so thank you for a loving evening & our next visit will definately be sooner than later
